Bartocci Giuseppe was born in Brindisi in 1961. As a teenager, he began painting on sheets of paper and on all kinds of surfaces he could find, even on the walls of his home. He started visiting his grandfather’s studio, a sculptor and draftsman, and was captivated by it.

He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo for a few years until 2000, when he decided to leave his studies to fully dedicate himself to painting in complete solitude, opening a studio near the Teatro Massimo in Palermo. From a young age, he devoted time and passion to painting, his only great love, admiring the works of major figures in abstract art and abstract impressionism. After a few years, he became acquainted with and deeply admired the works of Alberto Burri. He was fascinated by them. Gradually, he began searching for his own artistic voice and discovered key expressive elements: color, material, and application. His works incorporate acrylic paints, oils, and primary tints, as well as earthy materials and paper. He prefers color combinations rich in pigments, often pairing them with stucco and glue. Bartocci’s works are often marked by the expressiveness of someone who creates without rigid rules, looking inward to bring out the joy of the moment from deep within his soul.
